Education and transportation
Schools in Huntington Park are zoned into the Los Angeles Unified School District, meaning that students do not go to separate public schools from other suburban Los Angeles kids. There are technically eight public high schools that children can be zoned into, but most public school students will go to the new Linda Esperanza Marquez High School, or Huntington Park High School. There are two charter schools that also serve high school aged children in the area.
Huntington Park was meant to be a “streetcar suburb” when it was conceptualized in the early 20th century. Many people now have their own cars, and commute to and from the neighborhood for work and other activities. The Los Angeles metro serves the small town via bus service, and it has its own bus service, as well. Huntington Park’s dedicated bus routes are operated through the COMBI bus service. Huntington Park borders Bell and Lynwood.
